Wikipedias principer f\u00c3\u00b6r att godk\u00c3\u00a4nna en artikel bygger p\u00c3\u00a5 tre principer: <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Verifiability\">Verifiability<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:No_original_research\">No Original Research<\/a> och <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view\">Neutral Point of View<\/a>. Eftersom Wikipedia-artiklar \u00c3\u00a4r h\u00c3\u00b6gst rankade vid de flesta Google-s\u00c3\u00b6kningar som g\u00c3\u00b6rs s\u00c3\u00a5 har urvalsprinciperna f\u00c3\u00b6r artiklarna stor inverkan. Garfinkles argumentation bygger p\u00c3\u00a5 en objektivistisk ontologisk uppfattning, d.v.s att det finns en objektiv sanning. <\/p>\n\n<blockquote>So what is Truth? According to Wikipedia&#8217;s entry on the subject, &#8221;the term has no single definition about which the majority of professional philosophers and scholars agree.&#8221; But in practice, Wikipedia&#8217;s standard for inclusion has become its de facto standard for truth, and since Wikipedia is the most widely read online reference on the planet, it&#8217;s the standard of truth that most people are implicitly using when they type a search term into Google or Yahoo. On Wikipedia, truth is received truth: the consensus view of a subject.<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>En subjektivistisk utg\u00c3\u00a5ngspunkt s\u00c3\u00a4tter problemet i ett <em>annat<\/em> perspektiv, b\u00c3\u00a4ttre eller s\u00c3\u00a4mre vet jag inte. Eftersom sanningen om v\u00c3\u00a4rlden ur detta perspektiv inte \u00c3\u00a4r m\u00c3\u00b6jlig att uppn\u00c3\u00a5, och kanske dessutom uppfattas olika av alla betraktare s\u00c3\u00a5 kan man t\u00c3\u00a4nka sig att Wikipedias metod leder till ett medelv\u00c3\u00a4rde av referensers och f\u00c3\u00b6rfattares uppfattningar. En pragmatisk tolkning skulle kanske kunna bli att det faktiskt \u00c3\u00a4r en &#8221;b\u00c3\u00a4ttre&#8221; sanning? Svagheten i resonemanget \u00c3\u00a4r, bland annat, att subjektiva sanningar m\u00c3\u00a5ste presenteras kontextualiserade s\u00c3\u00a5 att l\u00c3\u00a4saren kan bilda sig en uppfattning om hur man kommit till en viss slutsats, vilket inte \u00c3\u00a4r fallet med Wikipedia-artiklar.
